Jamie Oliver Chocolate Brownies

Jamie Oliver Chocolate Brownies

Jamie Oliver’s chocolate brownies are a baked dessert made with melted chocolate, butter, sugar, eggs, and flour, resulting in a dense, fudgy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 200g dark chocolate

    • 150g butter

    • 200g sugar

    • 3 eggs

    • 100g plain flour

    • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

    • Pinch of salt

Optional additions:

    • Chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

    • Chocolate chips

    • Vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Tin

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tin with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.

Step 2: Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals. Stir until smooth and glossy.

Step 3: Mix Sugar and Eggs

In another bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until slightly thick and pale. This step helps create that classic shiny crust on top.

Step 4: Combine Chocolate and Egg Mixture

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir gently until fully combined.

Step 5: Add Dry Ingredients

Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the brownies fudgy.

Step 6: Add Optional Ingredients

Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using. This adds texture and extra richness.

Step 7: Transfer to Tin

Pour the batter into the prepared tin and spread evenly for consistent baking.

Step 8: Bake Until Just Set

Bake for 20–25 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center should remain slightly soft for a fudgy texture.

Step 9: Cool Before Cutting

Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing. This helps them firm up and gives clean cuts.
