Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread (ciabatta, baguette, or sourdough)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 23 tablespoons pesto
  • 100150g grated cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or mix)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt (optional)

Optional additions:

  • Fresh herbs (parsley or basil)
  • Chili flakes
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180–200°C (350–400°F).

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

Slice the bread in half lengthwise or into thick slices.

Step 3: Make Garlic Butter

Mix softened butter with minced garlic and a pinch of salt.

Step 4: Spread the Base

Spread garlic butter evenly over the bread.

Step 5: Add Pesto

Spread a thin layer of pesto over the garlic butter.

Step 6: Add Cheese

Sprinkle grated cheese generously over the top.

Step 7: Bake

Place in the oven and bake for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 8: Finish and Serve

Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle herbs or chili flakes, and serve warm.
