    • 5 large apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)

    • 250g fresh or frozen blackberries

    • 100g brown sugar

    • 1 tablespoon plain flour

    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Pastry

    • 500g shortcrust pastry

    • 1 egg (beaten, for glazing)

Optional additions:

    • Nutmeg

    • Vanilla extract

    • Demerara sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). A properly heated oven helps the pastry bake evenly and become cris
