Jamie Oliver Teriyaki Salmon

Jamie Oliver Teriyaki Salmon

Jamie Oliver’s Teriyaki Salmon is a simple yet flavorful dish made with pan-seared or oven-baked salmon coated in a homemade teriyaki sauce. It blends soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger to create a glossy glaze that enhances the natural richness of the fish.

Ingredients

Scale

    • 4 salmon fillets (skin on or off)

    • 3 tbsp soy sauce

    • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar

    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

    • 2 garlic cloves, minced

    • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

    • 1 tbsp sesame oil

    • 1 tbsp olive oil

    • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker glaze)

    • 1 tbsp water (if thickening the sauce)

    • Sesame seeds, to garnish

    • Spring onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Teriyaki Sauce

Combine soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Stir well until everything blends.

Step 2: Marinate the Salmon

Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half the sauce over them. Let them sit for 10–15 minutes.

Step 3: Cook the Salmon

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and flaky.

Step 4: Thicken the Sauce (Optional)

Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl, then add it to the remaining sauce in a pan. Simmer until the sauce becomes glossy.

Step 5: Glaze and Serve

Pour the warm teriyaki sauce over the cooked salmon. Top with sesame seeds and spring onions.
