    • ½ cup chicken stock

    • ½ teaspoon salt

    • ½ teaspoon black pepper

    • ½ teaspoon paprika

    • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley

    • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese (optional but recommended)

    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional for brightness)

Instructions

Step 1 – Season the Chicken

Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika. This step ensures the chicken develops good flavor from the start.

Step 2 – Sear the Chicken

Heat olive oil and butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove them from the pan and set aside.

Step 3 – Cook the Garlic

In the same pan, add the chopped garlic. Cook gently for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it, as burnt garlic can make the sauce bitter.

Step 4 – Make the Creamy Sauce

Pour in the chicken stock and scrape the bottom of the pan to release the flavorful browned bits. Add the double cream and stir well.

Step 5 – Add Cheese and Herbs

Stir in the parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Let the sauce simmer gently for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 6 – Return the Chicken

Place the chicken back into the pan and spoon the sauce over it. Cook for another 6–8 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and coated in the creamy garlic sauce.

Step 7 – Finish and Serve

Add a small squeeze of lemon juice for freshness and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
